2.5 Ton Excavator

Built to Work. Engineered to Last.

serious capability for demanding jobs

The Big Sur 2.5-Ton Mini Excavator brings serious capability to construction, landscaping, utility, and property work. Its Yanmar diesel engine delivers 20.4 horsepower, while 4,496 pounds of bucket digging force, a 7-foot-11-inch maximum digging depth, and a 14-foot-5-inch maximum digging radius give operators the range to tackle substantial work.

At an operating weight of approximately 5,512 pounds, the machine offers a useful step up in digging capability while retaining the maneuverability that makes a mini excavator so valuable on a crowded jobsite.

Dig with Confidence

The RT25's 20 kN of bucket digging force and 13.5 kN of arm digging force support trenching, footing preparation, drainage work, and site cleanup. Its working range lets you reach down nearly eight feet and dig across a radius of more than fourteen feet, helping operators cover more ground from each position.

Work Close to Buildings and Boundaries

A zero-tail-swing design helps the excavator work near walls, fences, and other obstacles. The side-swing boom adds flexibility when digging alongside a foundation or trench line, allowing the operator to position the bucket without moving the tracks for every cut.

Choose a Width That Fits the Site

An adjustable undercarriage is available, narrowing to 51.2 inches for access and expanding to 59.1 inches for a wider working stance. This configuration can help the machine move through constrained approaches, then give the operator more track width at the work area. Ask Big Sur which undercarriage is installed on the machine you select.

Yanmar Power at the Heart of the Machine

The Yanmar 3TNV80F diesel engine is rated at 15.2 kW (20.4 hp). This recognized engine model gives buyers a clear specification to consider alongside the excavator's digging force, reach, and hydraulic performance.

Put Attachments to Work

Auxiliary hydraulics allow the RT25 to support compatible tools beyond a digging bucket. Depending on the configuration, a quick coupler and attachments such as an auger, hydraulic breaker, grapple, or specialty bucket can broaden the jobs one machine can handle. Big Sur can help identify the coupler and attachment package suited to your work.

Make Long Days More Comfortable

The operator area is designed around clear sightlines and accessible controls. For all-season work, an enclosed cab with heat and air conditioning is available. Confirm the operator station and comfort equipment included with the machine you select.

Keep Routine Service Within Reach

A hood that opens wide provides access to daily service points, making routine checks easier to fit into the workday. Practical service access matters when a machine earns its keep by being ready for the next job.
