Comfortable Operation: An isolated engine compartment reduces heat transfer to the operator, while ergonomic controls and a molded standing platform help reduce fatigue during long workdays.
Built-In Safety: Features include an automatic hydraulic control lockout when the engine is shut off and a parking brake system that securely holds the machine on slopes.
Built for Reliability
The difference is in the details.
Donaldson premium air filtration protects the engine from dust and debris.
Heavy-duty Continental hydraulic hose protection reduces wear and extends hose life.
High-efficiency hydraulic return filtration helps maximize hydraulic component life.
Murphy digital instrumentation provides clear machine information at a glance.
Maintenance-free undercarriage rollers reduce routine service requirements.
Easy to Maintain
Downtime costs money. The SF1650 was designed to minimize it.
Quick-removal side panels provide outstanding service access.
Convenient engine oil drain simplifies routine maintenance.
Flip-up operator platform allows fast inspection of internal components.
Dual rear fuel tanks provide extended operating time between fill-ups.
External air filtration improves serviceability and engine protection.
Built to Last
From the reinforced track system to the heavy-duty quick attach, every detail of the SF1650 is engineered for years of dependable service. Durable construction, premium components, and thoughtful engineering combine to deliver a machine that performs as hard as you do.
SF1650 vs. Bobcat MT120
Higher rated operating capacity. Kubota Power. Serious Value.
The Big Sur SF1650 was built for customers who want the capability of a premium compact loader without paying simply for the name on the side.
The SF1650 provides proven Kubota diesel power, a significantly higher ROC, better auxiliary hydraulic flow, more fuel capacity and lower ground pressure among other advantages.
For contractors, landscapers, property owners and equipment operators who care about what a machine can actually do, the SF1650 is the loader for you.
15 GPM Auxiliary Hydraulics
More flow for the tools that make your loader valuable.
The SF1650 delivers 15 GPM of auxiliary hydraulic flow compared with 11.8 GPM for the Bobcat MT120 — approximately 27% more flow capacity.
That additional hydraulic capacity is particularly important when operating hydraulic attachments such as:
Augers
Trenchers
Brush cutters
Sweepers
Grapples
Hydraulic breakers
Other flow-demanding attachments
A compact loader spends much of its life powering attachments. We designed the SF1650 accordingly.
Powered by Kubota
At the heart of the SF1650 is the Kubota D1105 three-cylinder liquid-cooled diesel.
Rather than using an unfamiliar proprietary powerplant, Big Sur selected an established Kubota industrial diesel platform with a long history of use in construction, agricultural and industrial equipment.
25 horsepower. Three cylinders. 1.1 liters. Kubota.
Sometimes the name under the hood matters more than the name on the hood.
More Fuel. More Time Working.
The SF1650 carries 10.7 gallons of diesel compared with 8.1 gallons in the Bobcat MT120.
That's approximately 32% greater fuel capacity.
More fuel capacity means potentially longer intervals between refueling and fewer interruptions during a working day.
Easy on the Ground
With published ground pressure of just 3.81 PSI, the SF1650 spreads its weight effectively across its rubber tracks.
The Bobcat MT120 publishes 4.3 PSI with its standard tracks and 3.9 PSI with optional tracks.
For landscaping, turf work and jobs where unnecessary ground disturbance matters, lower ground pressure is an important advantage.
Built Around Common Attachments
The SF1650 uses the Common Industry Interface (CII) attachment mounting system, giving owners access to the broad market of compatible compact-loader attachments.
Your loader should expand what you can do—not limit where you buy your attachments.
Nearly Identical Weight. Different Priorities.
The comparison becomes particularly interesting when you look at operating weight:
Big Sur SF1650 — 3,718 lb
Bobcat MT120 — 3,720 lb
The machines occupy essentially the same operating-weight class.
Big Sur chose to put its capability into the things we believe working owners value: hydraulic flow, fuel capacity, low ground pressure, attachment compatibility and a Kubota diesel engine.

Where the SF1650 Wins
27% More Auxiliary Hydraulic Flow
15 GPM versus 11.8 GPM gives the SF1650 considerably greater hydraulic flow capacity for attachment work.
32% Larger Fuel Tank
10.7 gallons versus 8.1 gallons means more fuel aboard the machine when the workday begins.
Kubota D1105 Diesel
An established industrial diesel platform from one of the most recognized names in compact equipment engines.
Lower Published Ground Pressure
3.81 PSI compared with 4.3 PSI on the standard-track MT120.
Common Industry Interface
Designed to work with widely available CII-compatible attachments.
Where the Bobcat Has the Advantage
We believe customers deserve an honest comparison.
The Bobcat MT120 has a higher published travel speed, slightly higher auxiliary hydraulic pressure and a higher published tipping load. Bobcat also offers an extensive factory attachment catalog and a large established dealer network.
If those are your highest priorities, they should be part of your decision.
But if you're looking for strong hydraulic flow, Kubota diesel power, greater onboard fuel capacity and serious compact-loader capability at an exceptional value, take a closer look at the SF1650.
Don't Pay for a Name. Pay for Capability.
Big Sur Equipment Company was created around a simple idea:
Provide professional-grade equipment using proven components and intelligent engineering—and sell it for a price that makes sense.
The SF1650 is a perfect example.
Before you spend more on another compact loader, compare the specifications.
Then compare the price.
